There is no screen and nothing to learn on the device itself. You connect it to power, put it on your network over Ethernet or Wi-Fi, and everything after that happens in a browser — building the schedule, uploading audio, setting volume, checking that it played. That makes it well suited to sites where one administrator manages announcements centrally and the device simply needs to do its job without anyone touching it.
It runs on Linux, which is what lets it sit powered-on for months at a time and recover cleanly from a power cut without someone driving out to restart it.
